About the app

Honeybee is a digital insurance platform that offers a wide range of more personalized choices for both employer and employees. The Honeybee App is built to provide employees a handy tool to manage their Honeybee accounts. Employees can easily submit a claim, access account details and view plan coverage through the App.

Challenge

Honeybee has its own employee portal, but it’s not mobile friendly at all and employees have to sit in front of a computer screen every time to log into their accounts. Considering the complex functions and huge amount of data, the biggest challenge is how to customize the portal on a much smaller screen.

Solutions

INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

The very first step is to recategorize the current information structure. The original portal contains too many items on the home menu and submenus. With the new information architecture, contents have been reorganized under four categories: My Accounts, My Claims, My Coverage and Profile. Now employees have convenient access to the most demanding features: checking account balances and coverages, submitting claims or showing benefits cards on mobile devices. They can also easily switch between their Health and Allowance accounts by swiping right or left.

 

 

 

DESIGNS

Two contrasting colors – navy blue and honeybee yellow – are used to maintain coherence with the Honeybee brand. The app UI also utilizes bold and catchy icons to communicate complicated concepts to employees. A simple card-based layout has been applied across the entire app, related contents have been unified in small containers in the form of cards, so as to pull personalized pieces of information on interfaces. The clickable cards also serve as entry points for detailed information.
